EDELBERG PENS PROJECT

I have completed the paintings to accompany the hand painted pens, created for EDELBERG of Switzerland. I decided to use an unusual format for these works. While the overall canvas is square, I chose to concentrate painting the central panel only, leaving the 2 side panels white. This emphasises the vertical format and echoes the linear structure of the pen designs. I had thought of decorating the side panels in some way, but after giving it a lot of thought, my opinion is that the white provides the perfect balance, and I have decided I will leave them as they are. Once the works have thoroughly dried, I will give them a layer of retouch varnish, and then package them for their journey to Switzerland, where the will join the pens, to be paired together and offered for sale to collectors. This has been a wonderful project to work on, and I hope that I will have the opportunity to do so again, in the future.
